ELKINS -- The Water and Sewer Committee was told by Mayor Jack Ladyman Thursday that he had promoted David Turner to city superintendent.
He has done a good job keeping the office going, Ladyman said referring to the time between the firing of Kevin Caler, former superintendent, and his promotion of Turner.
Im doing everything I can to keep things going, Turner told the committee.
Stephens Inc. representative Kevin Faught discussed the proposed one cent sales tax with the committee. He told the committee time could be running out to get on the November ballot unless the city council passes an ordinance soon to get on the ballot. He also explained how bonds and again stated time was important because of changing interest rates.
Chairman Mike Lemaster thanked Faught for his information and said other companies would also be contacted for more information.
