Coming off nearly three weeks of inactivity, Pea Ridge High School head football coach Mark Laster was pleased with his team’s effort in a 7 on 7 competition in Bentonville Monday night. After losing to 7 A power Bentonville 21-6 to open the evening, Pea Ridge came back to whip Elkins 14-8 before settling for an 8-8 tie with West Fork.
“ We came out not nearly as aggressive as Bentonville, but the more we played, the more we got into it and performed pretty well all things considered, ” Laster remarked. “ The two dead weeks and the holidays have slowed us down some but I am happy with their effort. ”
The ’Hawks travel to Shiloh field next Monday to play Springdale, Huntsville, Shiloh and Gentry.
