Top Gun finalists announced

The field is finally complete with 23 Arkansas "young guns "expected to be on hand for the "Top Gun Quarterback Challenge "set for the Shiloh School "Field of Champions"at 7: 30 p.m. July 10.
Besides the previously announced Kip Kelly of Pea Ridge, other finalists include two other Benton County signal callers, with all three players from the 1-4 A Conference. Caleb Ramsey of Gentry and Ethan McKinzie of Gravette will be suiting up for the Pioneers and Lions in Springdale.
Another member of the 1-4 A will also be represented as previously selected Kiehl Frazier recently transferred from West Fork to Shiloh to be the Saints new leader. For a time it looked as though the host school might not be able to field a candidate this year until getting the up and coming star from West Fork to change colors and teams.
The newly-reorganized 1-4 A Conference boasts more Top Gun finalists than any other conference in any other classification in the state. Only three quarterbacks were chosen from the large school football powerhouse conference, the 7 A West.
Others included in the fray are: Will Coleman, Desoto; John Richardson, Johnson County Westside; Matt Jones, Lamar; Zac Cole, Central Arkansas Christian; Claude Johnson, Pine Bluff; Spencer Keith, Pulaski Academy; Pierre Vaughan, Nashville; Ethan Powell, Bryant; Brandon Allen, Fayetteville; Kendall Pinckney, Dardanelle; Logan Quinn, Arkansas Baptist; Daniel Holiday, West Fork; Philip Butterfield, Lake Hamilton; Griffin Kuhn, Little Rock Christian; Michael Thomas, Mountainburg; Hayden Smith, Warren; Zach Faust, Springdale Har-Ber; Ashton Glazier, Springdale; and Rollins Elam, Lonoke.
The event organizers also announced a $ 500 grand prize for the school that demonstrates the most spirit. Local cheerleaders will be in Springdale and all Pea Ridge fans are urged to travel to Springdale to support the Blackhawks' own and to demonstrate Pea Ridge pride.
