Local tracksters compete at state

Dillon Blankenship ran the state 800 meters this week with the girls 4 x 400 meter relay also participating in the event being staged at Prescott High School.
Blankenship also scored in the 3200 run as well as the 800, taking sixth place with a time of 12: 38. 6. V. J. WIlson and Dalton Fralin were also double placers in the meet with Wilson taking eight in both the 200 and 100 meter dashes with times of 26. 85 and 12. 55 while Fralin was sixth in the shot put (38-7 ) and seventh in the discus (95-5 ). Josh Simmons rounded out the scoring in the meet with a fourth in the 100 (12. 36 ) with Ryan Walker finishing eighth in the 110 high hurdles in 18. 82.
The Blackhawk boys’ 4 x 100 meter relay team was just nosed out of a state berth with a third place time of 47. 63. The names of both the girls’ and boys’ relay team runners were not available.
