NWACC adds two Marketing Analyst classes BENTONVILLE - The Corporate Learning Division's Marketing Analyst Program has boosted its curriculum with two new classes. Both classes have been added to the program's fall schedule.

"Advanced Analysis "is targeted to retail analyst professionals already working in the vendor community. The course requires advanced Microsoft Excel and Access skills. "It will help them work smarter not harder by harnessing the full power of MS Office," said James Thulin, NWACC Retail Programs coordinator. The Marketing Analyst Program will also introduce a new "Category Management "class this fall. "The course was developed by a group of seasoned category management professionals working in the retail supplier community," Thulin said. The course is open to analysts who want to learn about the category management process and others wanting to find their way into the category world, he said. Both classes start in September.

The course will be offered for credit or audit at noon on Tuesdays and Thursdays. It will focus on American popular music during the past 50 years, said Miles Fish, NWACC music faculty and conductor of the Civic Symphony Orchestra who will teach the course.

The course will include rock'n roll lectures, listening and an occasional live performance, Fish said. He said brown-bag lunches will be permitted in order to accommodate working students on their noon breaks. "To study rock's history in the last half of this past century is to study American culture," Fish said. "The course will help us better appreciate 50 years of great popular music and it will give us the opportunity to appreciate a cultural phenomenon that changed the world."
