Hickman receives scholarship Codi N. Hickman of Pea Ridge has accepted an academic scholarship to the University of Central Arkansas beginning in August with the 2008 fall term. She plans to major in physical therapy.

UCA awards academic scholarships, renewable for seven consecutive semesters, based on ACT scores, grade point average and class rank, as well as National Merit and National Achievement competition. Hickman will receive a Dean's Scholarship to attend UCA.

She is the daughter of Dan Hickman and granddaughter of Dean and Menta Messer, all of Pea Ridge.

Hickman, a student at Pea Ridge since third grade, will graduate from Pea Ridge High School where she is a member of varsity basketball, varsity football, softball manager, Girl Scouts, class secretary, National Honor Society, Who's Who Among American High School students and gifted and talented. She is a certified Red Cross life guard and health care provider. She works as a life guard at Walton Life Fitness Center in Bentonville.

She is a member of Pea Ridge Church of Christ. Johnson toured art scene SEARCY - Each year, Harding University art students tour the Chicago art scene. Harding University student Elizabeth Johnson of Pea Ridge participated in an educational tour of several art and design museums, showrooms and firms in Chicago April 17-20. Johnson, a junior majoring in graphic design, is one of 35 students who spent three days exploring the city's diverse art and design.

The trip is the spring semester highlight for fine art, art education and graphic design majors. The group took a threehour architectural tour around Chicago, visited design firms specific to their majors, toured the Farnsworth House designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, perused the Art Institute of Chicago Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art and local galleries during their survey tour of the city.

Harding had a record enrollment this year of more then 6, 300 students from 49 states and 52 foreign countries. It is the largest private university in Arkansas and attracts more National Merit Scholars then any other private university in the state. Harding also maintains campuses in Australia, Chile, England, France / Switzerland, Greece, Italy and Zambia.
