Outdoor Movie Night The Optimist Club free outdoor movie night is Friday, July 11, at the downtown school grounds, at dark. Concessions will be sold beginning at 7 p.m. Attendees are asked to take their lawn chairs, blankets, frisbees, balls, etc. Showing will be "Wild Hogs," rated PG-13, starring Tim Allen, John Travolta, Martin Lawrence and William H. Macey. Charity Home Run Derby Home run derby will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12 at the Pea Ridge softball field. Full concessions, $ 1 per ball and all ages welcome. Prizes awarded to children ages 16 and under.
All proceeds will be donated to Linda Bratti for her medical expenses. Bratti was injured in a motor-vehicle accident earlier this spring.

Entry fee is $ 300. First, second and third place winners will receive a cash prize. Free water, pop and lunch will be provided. All proceeds will be donated to Linda Bratti for her medical expenses. Donations of any kind are welcome.

Avoca Farmers Bazaar AVOCA - Avoca Farmers Bazaar will be open at 8 a.m. each Saturday at the depot pavilion west of Avoca Town Hall, 222 N. Old Wire Road. Items needed include homegrown flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables, plants, eggs and dairy, as well as handmade furniture, jewelry, toys, quilts, and other textiles. No baked goods, jams or jellies unless made in an approved Health Department kitchen. Also being accepted are applications for drink / food booths, pony rides, clowns, face painting and business booths.
