William Anthony William Anthony, 82, of Bentonville, Ark., died Sunday, Sept. 28, 2008, in Rogers, Ark. He was born March 23, 1926, in Arthur, Neb., to William R. Anthony and Estella Upthagrove Anthony.
He lived in Eureka Springs, Ark., from 1929 to 1977. He was a core driller and a park ranger for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers. He served in the U. S. Navy from 1943 to 1945.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Chandler.
Survivors include two sisters, Velma M. Amos of Kansas City, Kan., and Helen Amos of Broken Arrow, Okla.; and several nieces and nephews, including Harold Amos of Rogers.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Benton County Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Keith. Burial with military honors was at the Union Cemetery near Garfield. Arrangements were by Benton County Funeral Home of Rogers.

Bill Boothe Bill Boothe, 52, of Garfield, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at his home. He was born Nov. 10, 1955, in Columbia, S. C., to Henry Harding Boothe and Mary Ovella Price Boothe.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Boothe; a son, Jason Boothe, stationed in Afghanistan; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Kay Chapman and Tony Chapman of Huntsville, Ark.; his mother, Mary Boothe of Oil City, La.; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Chuck Boothe and Teresa Boothe of Daytona Beach, Fla., and Hank Boothe of Fayetteville, Ark.; four sisters and a brother-in-law, Susan Ingles of Oil City, Barbara Boothe, and Pat Moore and Danny Moore, all of Rogers, Ark., and Debra Wilson of Elizabethton, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Matthew Pollock, Erik Chapman and Savanna Chapman.
A memorial service was held Friday, Oct. 3, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with Christopher Boothe. Full military honors was provided by VFW Post 3031. Cremation arrangements were by Sisco Funeral Home of Pea Ridge.

Nevada Cowan Nevada Cowan, 93, of Savoy, Ark., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, at a local health care facility. She was born Aug. 26, 1915, in Tuttle, Okla., to Clifford Southard and Sarah Wood Southard.
She was a longtime member of Howe-Savoy Community Church. She moved to northwest Arkansas in 1940 from Oklahoma. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, reading and watching birds.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ewell Cowan in 1994; a son, Kendall Black; a daughter, Sharon Ward; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include a sister, Deenie Potter of Brazil, Ind.; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Black of Rogers, Ark.; three grandchildren, Kendall Black of Germantown, Tenn., Dr. Randall Black of Rogers, and Lendell Black of Fayetteville, Ark.; and six greatgrandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, Oct. 6, at the Farmington Cemetery in Farmington, Ark., with the Rev. Tommy Hinson. Arrangements were by Stockdale Funeral Services of Rogers.

Paul William Fleming Paul William Fleming, 78, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008. He was born July 30, 1930, in Omaha, Neb., to Paul Nelson Fleming and Ethel Marguerite Merritt Fleming.

He married Marilyn Joyce Johnson on Aug. 18, 1951. In 1996, the couple moved to Bella Vista, where he was a member of the Fly Tyers, and Thrivent, and helped as a foreman for Habitat for Humanity. He and his wife made wood crafts in Nebraska, and their business was called Pa and Ma's Wood Crafts. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing cards.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Fleming; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen Kay Marcey-Fleming and Kenneth Marcey of Hampton, Neb., and Marleen Marie Griger and Jeff Griger of Rogers, Ark.; a sister and brother-in-law, Carol Ann Stewart and Donald Stewart of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren, Lona Fleming Mason, Jesse Fleming and Dustin Fleming, all of Hampton, Neb., and Matthew Griger, Mark Griger and Kelleye Griger, all of Rogers; a great-grandson, Hunter Linn Griger; and a great-granddaughter, Holly Joy Griger.

Donald Jens Jespersen Donald Jens Jespersen, 81, of Rogers, Ark., died Sept. 29, 2008, at his home. He was born in Audubon County, Iowa, Feb. 19, 1927, to Knud and Dena (Paulsen ) Jespersen.

Burial was at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with full military honors provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard of Rogers. Members of the Honor Guard served as pallbearers. Arrangements were by Epting Funeral Home of Bentonville.

A former resident of Chicago, she moved to Rogers in 1990. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Rogers. She enjoyed playing bingo, making hook rugs and doing arts and crafts and all types of needlework.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Joseph J. Para; three brothers; and a sister.

She was a retired legal secretary and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Wood, 90, of Rogers, Ark., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, in Bentonville, Ark. She was born Dec. 5, 1917, in Moline, Kan., to Ben Vick and Zelma Fessenden Vick.
She was a medical office assistant and was a member of the Oakley Chapel United Methodist Church in Rogers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Wood, in 1999.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Pinkley and Paul Pinkley of Rogers; and three grandchildren, Anne Pinkley of Fayetteville, Ark., Cecilie Pinkley of Springdale, Ark., and Wes Pinkley of Portland, Ore.
