FAST-PITCH PLAYERS NEEDED • The Springdale Chicks are adding competitive fast-pitch softball players to fill in spots on the 2009 roster for their 14 U travel team. Players should be born in 1994-95, bring a high level of intensity, be willing to make a long term commitment and expect to play a lot of softball. Tournaments are primarily played in Northwest Arkansas, Northeast Oklahoma and Joplin, Mo. BASKETBALL CLINICS • Former University of Arkansas basketball coach Nolan Richardson and former Razorback player Corliss Williamson will address Playbook 2 Win coaching clinics in Little Rock and Fayetteville. The clinics for coaches on all levels from recreation through college, costs $ 50 with morning and afternoon sessions and lunch provided. They are set Oct. 11 in Little Rock at Arkansas Baptist High School and Oct. 18 in Fayetteville at Fayetteville High School. Former Razorback assistant coach Wayne Stehlik and a girls basketball coach will also speak on strategies and philosophies.
