18 and 19-year-old Babe Ruth Regional at Green Forest Fort Smith Coke 3, NWA 2 The Northwest Arkansas All-Stars took Fort Smith Coke to the limit Monday in the 18-and 19-year-old Babe Ruth Regional at Green Forest, but the squad failed to get the timely hit it needed with men at second and third in the top of the seventh to fall 3-2. NWA's Mike Upton led the game off with a home run on the first pitch, but NWA would not gain another hit until the fourth inning when Joe Cornelison hit a single. Korey Ayers and Upton each had singles in the fifth, but NWA could not get them across the plate. Both squads stranded eight batters in the game. Coke scored the gamewinning run in the seventh on an error. Cody Smith struggled through 4 1 / 3 innings on the mound for NWA, striking out three and giving up three hits. Trevor Mitchell suffered the loss, pitching the final 1 1 / 3 innings.

11-year-old 60-foot All-Stars at Osceola Fayetteville 8, Bentonville 5 The Fayetteville All-Stars couldn't afford a loss in the double-elimination tournament, and fired back with an 8-5 win over Bentonville on Monday. Sam Threlkeld struck out six batters and allowed five hits and also went wild at the plate with a 3-for-3 performance. Threlkeld also hit a triple in the win. Spencer Finney and Devon Nielson chipped in with 2-for-3 performances at the plate as Nielson hit a double. Fayetteville 1, Van Buren 0 (semifinals )

A pitcher's duel ended in the bottom of the sixth and two throwing errors cost Van Buren as Fayetteville advanced to the Cal Ripken All-Stars championship.

Sam Threlkeld hit a double in the bottom of the sixth and subsequent throwing errors to second and later on a throw to third plated Threlkeld for the walk-off run.

Henry d'Noble pitched six innings and struck out seven while spreading out seven hits.

Fayetteville will play Johnson County (Clarksville ) today at 10 a.m. in the All-Stars championship game. Fayetteville must beat Johnson County twice to win the championship as they have already lost one game in the tournament.

11-year-old 70-foot All-Stars at Harrison Fayetteville 9, Harrison 4 (semifinals ) Fayetteville broke a tie with Harrison in the bottom of the sixth inning and scored five runs to take a 9-4 win in the semifinals of the All-Star Tournament semifinals in Harrison. Fayetteville will face an opponent yet to be determined in the championship game at 5 p.m. today. Fayetteville needs one win to take the championship, while their opponent will need to defeat Fayetteville twice to take the crown. Walker Powell picked up the complete game win on the mound. He allowed five hits and struck out seven batters. Grant Cook and Blake Power led the way with 2-for-3 performances at the plate as Fayetteville had eight batters with hits in the 11-hit contest.
