Hogs slip to 22nd at NCAA golf regional

The Razorback golf team is in 22 nd place after Friday's second round at the NCAA Central Regional at the par-71 Scarlet Golf Course in Columbus, Ohio. Arkansas posted a 20-over-par 304 during the second round to match its opening-round mark.
Sophomore David Lingmerth is the top UA golfer after two rounds at 7-over par and is among a group of 13 with a share of 37 th place. He tallied one birdie and four bogies during the second round to card a 3-overpar 74.
Andrew Landry fired a team-best 1-over-par 72 during Friday's second round to rebound from his opening-round 78. Beginning the round on the back nine, he got off to a rough start with a double bogey on No. 11, but posted three birdies throughout his round to climb into a tie for 50 th place with eight other golfers. The Razorback junior is 8-over par through 36 holes of play.
With identical scores of an 8-over-par 79, Jason Turner and Sam Chavez struggled on the day. Turner posted three birdies, but was hurt by eight over-par holes including a double bogey on the sixth and a triple bogey on No. 4. He is 11-over par heading into the final round. Chavez was 5-over par on the final nine holes of the day and sits in a tie for 103 rd place.
Will Osborne rounds out the Razorback lineup with a share of 120 th place following Friday's 9-over-par 80. He is 16-over par through the second round.
The team from Wake Forest extended its lead over Alabama with a 3-over-par 287 during the second round. The Demon Deacons are 9-over par and 10 shots ahead of Alabama with 18 holes to play. Kevin Tway of Oklahoma State is the individual leader at 3-under par, two strokes in front of Wake Forest's Brendan Gielow. Demon Deacon golfers occupy spots two through four in the player standings.
The top 10 teams and top two individuals not on a qualifying team will advance to the NCAA Championships to be played May 28-31 at the Kampen Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ind. The teams from Indiana and Kent State are tied for 10 th place heading into the final round with six teams within five shots of the final qualifying spot.
Today's second round is set to begin at 6 a.m. The Arkansas golfers will be paired with Cleveland State and Marquette as they tee off at 11: 59 a.m.
