The majority of school districts in Washington County will be out of class a full week for the Thanksgiving holiday this year.
Fayetteville, Greenland, Farmington, Lincoln and West Fork will not hold classes next week, giving students a full week off. The districts are holding teacher in-service training on Monday and Tuesday.
“ It didn’t used to be, but that’s become the tradition now, ” said Alan Wilbourn, Fayetteville School District public information officer.
Elkins, Prairie Grove and Springdale will hold classes Monday and Tuesday, so students will be out of school Wednesday through Friday.
Siloam Springs schools in Benton County and the Huntsville School District in Madison County will also hold school Monday and Tuesday.
The University of Arkansas in Fayetteville will hold classes for students on Monday and Tuesday. No classes will be held Wednesday through Friday.
Greenland and Farmington are taking a full week off for the third year in a row, and Lincoln and West Fork are taking the full week off for the second consecutive year.
