Bank robbery : Police seek suspect accused of brandishing handgun, fleeing

COURTESY Fayetteville police are seeking a suspect, shown in this surveillance camera capture, in connection with an alleged armed robbery at an Arvest Bank branch. According to the police report, the suspect was armed with a handgun and fled the incident northbound on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.
Fayetteville police are seeking a suspect accused of robbing an Arvest Bank branch early Wednesday evening.
Officers responded to Arvest Bank, 1113 N. Garland Ave., at about 6: 35 p.m.
Police said a black male wearing a white T-shirt, khaki or gray shorts, a white hat, sunglasses and black tennis shoes entered the bank and brandished a handgun. Investigators said the suspect ran northbound from the scene.
Fayetteville Police Lt. Jamie Fields said no one was injured. As of press time, officials would not say how much money, if any, was taken.
The last bank robbery in Fayetteville happened Dec. 29, 2007, at First Security Bank, 2552 W. Sixth St.
