Hickerson retains seat on Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council

Charles "Tony"Hickerson, chief financial officer for Central Emergency Medical Service, has been reappointed by Gov. Mike Beebe to serve on the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council.

The appointment was announced Tuesday by the governor's office.

"I'm glad to serve and offer my experience," said Hickerson, of Fayetteville.

The former director of CEMS, Hickerson has been on the advisory council since 1998. He has been with CEMS since 1987 and in chief financial officer since November 2006.

The advisory council is charged with advising the governor on all matters pertaining to emergency medical services in the state, and to help the Arkansas Department of Health's Division of Emergency Medical Services in promulgating rules and regulations, which "shall foster and encourage the development"of quality prehospital emergency medical services for the state's citizens, according to information provided by Matt DeCample, spokesman for the governor's office.
