UAPD still seeks suspect in stabbing of Bentonville man at ZZ Top concert

University of Arkansas police are still looking for a man wanted in the stabbing of a Bentonville man Friday night.
The incident happened during the ZZ Top concert at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville. The victim, Michael Paul Avers, 43, is being treated at Washington Regional Medical Center.
Police Lt. Gary Crain said witnesses told investigators that Avers and the suspect got into an argument during the concert and that as Avers was leaving the concert, the suspect attacked him with a knife, stabbing him in the abdomen and slightly injuring a second person’s hand.
The suspect is described as a white man in his early 30 s, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a thin face, red hair, a mustache and a triangular goatee. He was wearing a torn ZZ Top concert shirt at the time of the stabbing.
At the time of the initial argument, the suspect was reported to be with four other people, two women and two men. One woman is described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall, about 120-130 pounds, with brown hair. The second woman is described only as having braided hair. One of the men is described as a white man, 5 feet 6 inches tall, with a slender build and wearing a black leather vest. The second man is described as having a husky build with short, dark hair.
