Man charged with beating toddler
Cory Curtis Easter, 18, was charged Aug. 9 by the Fourth Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office with second-degree domestic battery, accused of beating a 3-year-old girl, who was living in the same household, on the buttocks and legs on July 12, causing bruises and abrasions on her legs. He also is accused of throwing a stool at the child, striking her on the head and causing a laceration over her eye. He was arrested by Springdale police.
Fayetteville man pleads innocent to sexual assault
Willie Lee Huff, 22, of 2288 W. Maine St., No. 10, Fayetteville, pleaded innocent Aug. 3 to fourth-degree sexual assault, accused of engaging in sexual relations and sexual contact with a girl who is younger than 14.
He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on $ 175, 000. Trial is set for Oct. 5.
Man pleads guilty to domestic battery
Guadelupe Gonzalez Hernandez, 31, of Springdale pleaded guilty Aug. 7 in Washington County Circuit Court to third-degree domestic battery and aggravated assault on a family or household member for beating his wife and threatening her with a knife on May 13, causing injury. He also admitted to violating his probation on failure to appear and third-degree domestic battery charges in 2005. He was sentenced to six years in the Arkansas Department of Correction, with two years suspended, leaving four to serve.
Man pleads innocent to residential burglary
Michael Allen Stacy, 34, of 10144 Snavely Road, Springdale, pleaded innocent Aug. 3 in Washington County Circuit Court to residential burglary. He was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on a parole violation. Trial is set for Oct. 5.
Man pleads innocent to battery
Brent Lee Newman, 35, pleaded innocent Aug. 3 in Washington County Circuit Court to second-degree battery, accused of twisting his wife’s arm behind her back and dragging her off the bed on April 11.
He has been released from the Washington County Detention Center on $ 5, 000 bond. Trial is set for Oct. 5. He is to have no contact with the alleged victim.
Man pleads guilty to battery
Jose Manuel Cisneros, 39, pleaded guilty Aug. 7 in Washington County Circuit Court to second-degree battery for striking his 5-yearold child, causing red marks, on May 10. Cisneros was arrested May 11 by Springdale police.
Cisneros was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to serve 60 days of community service in the Washington County Detention Center. He is also to complete parenting and domestic abuse intervention unit classes, and comply with the Department of Human Services plan in the case.
He received credit for one day served in the Washington County Detention Center.
Springdale man pleads guilty to battery
Jose Calderon, 25, Springdale, pleaded guilty Aug. 7 in Washington County Circuit Court to second-degree battery for cutting his friend on May 12. He was sentenced to four years probation and ordered to pay $ 1, 000 in county restitution. He also was sentenced to serve 120 days in the Washington County Detention Center and received credit for 87 days already served. He is to have no contact with the victim.
Springdale man pleads innocent to accomplice to aggravated robbery, terroristic threatening
Erik Reyes-Herrera, 23, Springdale, pleaded innocent Aug. 8 in Washington County Circuit Court to accomplice to aggravated robbery and accomplice to terroristic threatening. He is being held in the Washington County Detention Center on $ 100, 000 bond. Trial is set for Oct. 11.
Fayetteville man pleads guilty to domestic battery
Lawrence Elwood Cortez, 26, of 401 W. 24 th St., Apt. 29, Fayetteville, pleaded guilty Aug. 9 in Washington County Circuit Court to three counts of third-degree domestic battery for striking his daughter with the back of his hand, causing injury, April 24, 2006, and striking his ex-girlfriend on Sept. 8 and May 5, causing injury both times.
He was sentenced to six years in the Arkansas Department of Correction, with three years suspended, leaving three to serve. He received credit for 95 days served in the Washington County Detention Center.
He is to have no contact with his ex-girlfriend.
Elm Springs man pleads guilty to aggravated assault, terroristic threatening
John Charles Adams, 26, Elm Springs, pleaded guilty Aug. 9 in Washington County Circuit Court to aggravated assault and terroristic threatening for threatening to kill his girlfriend with a knife on March 24.
He was sentenced to six years probation and ordered to pay $ 1, 000 in county restitution. He is to enroll in and complete domestic abuse intervention unit classes and treatment at Ozark Guidance Center, Springdale. He is to have no contact with the victim. He received credit for 137 days served in the Washington County Detention Center.
Man charged with domestic battery
Robert Stanley Pointer, 31, was charged Aug. 9 by the Fourth Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office with third-degree domestic battery, accused of hitting his wife, resulting in bruises and scratches on her arms and back.
Springdale man pleads innocent to head butting cop
Eric Dean Pratt, 31, of 533 Caboose Lane, No. 10, Springdale, pleaded innocent Aug. 3 in Washington County Circuit Court to seconddegree battery, accused of head butting a police officer on July 3, causing injury to his lips. He was arrested by Fayetteville police.
Pratt has been released from the Washington County Detention Center on $ 5, 000 bond. Trial is set for Sept. 18.

Troy David James, 39, pleaded innocent Aug. 3 in Washington County Circuit Court to residential burglary and terroristic threatening, accused of breaking into another person’s home and threatening him and pointing a gun at a person on July 2. He was arrested by Fayetteville police.
He has been released from the Washington County Detention Center on $ 5, 000 bond. Trial is set for Sept. 18. He is to have no contact with the alleged victim.
Domestic battery charge dropped
A charge of third-degree domestic battery against Odwal Mendoza, 35, was dropped because the victim cannot be located, according to a filing Aug. 9 in Washington County Circuit Court.
