Botanical garden to host education programs

A pair of educational programs will be held at the Carl A. Totemeier Horticulture Center on Aug. 25. The center is located at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks, 4703 N. Crossover Road in Fayetteville.
At 9: 30 a. m., Thea Daniels, owner of Rose of Sharon Florist, will teach flower arranging. Class size is limited to 15, and reservations are required and due by Aug. 20. Cost is $ 35 for nonmembers and $ 30 for members. Registration includes a glass vase and flowers.
At 10 a.m. Robin Verble, a graduate student in the University of Arkansas entomology department, will present a workshop on bug collecting. Participants will collect insects and learn how to properly kill, preserve, pin, mount, spread and label them. The workshop will last four hours and include lunch, a bug box, pins, manual, label and collector jars. Recommended ages are fourth grade and above. Adults are welcome. Cost is $ 40 for nonmembers and $ 35 for members. Reservations are required and due by Aug. 20.
