Anxiety group now forming Panic Relief Inc., a nonprofit educational organization, is forming a support group to help participants suffering from panic, anxiety and agoraphobia cope with these disorders. Included in the instruction will be tips to control panic attacks and anticipatory anxiety and instruction on how attitudes and current thoughts affect panic and anxiety. Emotional Freedom mini-workshop to be held in Fayetteville A half-day version of the "Set Yourself Free with EFT"workshop, introducing the Emotional Freedom Techniques, will take place from 1: 15-4: 15 p.m. today in Fayetteville. EFT offers freedom from emotional and physical pain as well as other issues. A self-administered technique, EFT helps with weight loss, improving sports or sales performances, fears, pain and other health problems. V. A. lab achieves accreditation The Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists has announced that the medical laboratory at the V. A. Medical Center, Pathology and Laboratory and Medicine Service in Fayetteville has been awarded accreditation based on the results of an on-site inspection completed May 19. The laboratory is under the direction of Robert M. Levy, M. D., and was recognized for providing quality laboratory services.
The V. A. Medical Center Fayetteville Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service is one of a select group of laboratories that has been evaluated and found to be in compliance with the CAP accreditation standards, designed to help ensure quality patient care.
Eye surgery and LASIK center opens The new McDonald Eye Associates Surgery and LASIK Center was opened Aug. 10, followed by a public open house. The Center is located in the same building as the McDonald Eye Associates Clinic, 3318 North Hills Blvd. in Fayetteville. Construction began on the facility in August of 2005 and adds 4, 500 square feet to the existing clinic, which has been remodeled with a new optical shop.
