Washington County deputies hoping to catch naked man in the act

Washington County deputies are trying to catch a Summers man in the act. The man has reportedly been seen standing naked on the side of the road, but deputies have not been able to arrest him yet. "He’s one of our more colorful individuals in the county," said Cpl. Jak Kimball of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. "Sometimes he wears women’s clothing, too. He actually does it in his own yard, but it’s right on the side of Highway 62 where everyone can see."
Kimball said deputies have yet to catch the man exposing himself. "We’ve been trying our best to get him, but he lives on the county line," he said. "Every time we get out there, he’s already gone back inside."
Indecent exposure is considered to be a misdemeanor, Kimball said, unless a suspect is sexually gratifying himself. "That’s something that’s really hard to prove," he said. "And we can’t arrest someone on a misdemeanor unless we actually see it happen."
Kimball said deputies hope to have the suspect mentally committed. "He’s been doing it for a while, several times a week," he said. "Once we happen to be lucky enough to be in the area, we might be able to get an involuntary mental commitment. If we get witnesses to come forward and testify, we could get a warrant."
