A Fayetteville man was arrested early Monday morning after allegedly stabbing another man during after a verbal fight.
Joshua Anthony Odom was taken into custody on felony charges of second degree domestic battery, theft of property and terroristic threatening following the incident at the Dickson Theater, 227 W. Dickson St.
Odom was a performer in the "Club Xanadu" drag queen shows held Sunday nights at the theater. "The victim and Odom were involved in a verbal fight at the club that at some point apparently turned physical," said Sgt. Shannon Gabbard with the Fayetteville Police Department.
According to the incident report, the victim told authorities Odom stabbed him in the back while giving him a hug.
Odom then was believed to have fled the scene with the victim’s belongings in a Chevrolet Trailblazer belonging to a friend of the victim.
Police located the victim at the nightclub, where he was treated for a small puncture wound to the mid/lower back but refused transport to Washington Regional Medical Center.
Authorities were unsure of what weapon was used but suspected it was small because of the size of the wound.
Investigators think the incident could be the result of problems in a past relationship involving the two, Gabbard said.
