Staff Sgt. Charles Cox was recently assigned to the U.S. Air Force recruiting office at 4201 N. Shiloh Drive, Suite 1285A, in Fayetteville.
Cox is a recent graduate of the Air Force Recruiting School in San Antonio where he was trained in various areas of study, including the Air Force job classification system, testing and enlistment procedures and public speaking. He was selected for the special course and recruiting duty as a volunteer with an outstanding Air Force record.
Army National Guard Pvt. Aaron G. Miner has graduated from the Infantryman One Station Unit Training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. The training consists of basic infantry training and advanced individual training.
During the nine weeks of basic combat training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons employment, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid skills, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experienced use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
The advanced individual training course is designed to train infantry soldiers to perform reconnaissance operations; employ, fire and recover anti-personnel and anti-tank mines; locate and neutralize land mines and operate target and sight equipment; operate and maintain communications equipment and radio networks; construct field firing aids for infantry weapons; and perform infantry combat exercises and dismounted battle drills, which includes survival procedures in a nuclear, biological or chemical contaminated area.
He is the son of Robert D. Miner of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Diane Stepanovich of Farmington.
The private is a 2008 graduate of Farmington High School.

The following privates recently enlisted into the Arkansas Army National Guard, earning a $20,000 enlistment bonus and other education benefits:
· Pvt. Justin Allen of Fayetteville will attend basic training followed by advanced individual training at Fort Eustis, Va., as a motor transport operator. Upon returning to Arkansas, he will be assigned to Detachment 1, 937th Forward Support Company in Charleston. He is a 2007 Fayetteville High School graduate and is the son of Zinford Allen of Detroit and Carla Burkes of Fayetteville.
· Pvt. Jose Bonilla of Fayetteville, a senior at Fayetteville High School, will attend basic training after graduation with further instruction at Fort Gordon, Georgia, as a satellite communication systems operator/maintainer. Upon returning to Arkansas, Bonilla will be assigned to the 142nd Signal Company in Fayetteville. He is the son of Francisco and Diana Bonilla.
· Pvt. Jason Meckley of Springdale will attend basic training followed by advanced individual training at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, as an ammunition specialist. Upon returning to Arkansas, he will be assigned to Detachment 1, Alpha Company 217th Brigade Support Battalion in Berryville. He is the son of Jeff and Jeannine Meckley.
· Pvt. Skylar Sigman of Elkins will attend basic training followed by advanced individual training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas, as a health care specialist. Upon returning to Arkansas, she will be assigned to the 213th Medical Company (area support) in North Little Rock.
