Siloam Springs Writers The Siloam Springs Writers will hold their annual fall workshop and writing contest Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the New Senior Activity Center, 750 Heritage Court in Siloam Springs. Admission is $ 5 and includes the luncheon and an entry for the Gertrude Jesser Award for an inspirational poem. Submissions will be taken at the door. The speaker and judge for the morning prose workshop will be published author, Carol Russell. Miss Siloam Springs High School Pageant The first Miss Siloam Springs High School will be crowned Sept. 13 at the Fine Art Building on the school's campus. The pageant, the first in the school's history, is being sponsored by Siloam Springs High School's Future Business Leaders of America chapter. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Arkansas Children's Hospital. Applications are being accepted through Aug. 29. Candidates must be a full-time student at SSHS for the entire 2008-2009 school year. Each contestant will be judged on interview, talent, evening wear, and on-stage question. Siloam Springs Head Start Siloam Springs Head Start is accepting applications for their fall 2008 enrollment. Free child development programs are available to those meeting eligibility requirements.
