Norman completes NACA academy

GENTRY ó Warren ì Budî Norman, the cityís animal control officer, recently graduated from the National Animal Control Association Training Academy in Little Rock.

The five-day course included training in the following areas ï Animal Behavior ï Rabies / Euthanasia ï Animal Identification ï Animal Diseases / Zoonosis ï First Aid for Animals ï Shelter Operations ï Capture Techniques ï Report Writing ï Interview Techniques ï Laws and Legal Proceedings ï Evidence Collection ï Court Testimony ï Crisis Intervention / Officer Safety After completing the course and testing on June 27, Norman was nationally certified at level one and is eligible to take the second level of training. He is already level-three certified in the state of Arkansasí training program.

The National Animal Control Association was formed in 1978 for the purpose of assisting its members to perform their duties in a professional manner. NACA believes its most important contribution towards solving our domestic animal problems is to make available to Animal Control agencies and personnel a comprehensive training program.
