In March, the Bella Vista Property Owners Association began looking for a recreation director who would report directly to the general manager, but now that search has been put on hold.

The director, according to a job description from the POA, would help develop plans for amenities, create budgets, handle administrative duties and finances, and manage personnel.

However, General Manager Tommy Bailey said the POA Board passed a resolution in April to wait to take action on moving forward with amenity plans until they have a clear picture of the association's future.

The resolution states that board members will wait until municipal services have been transferred to the city. The board must also understand the effects of the transfer on finances and improve the condition of existing amenities, according to the resolution. The board will continue to work on recreational opportunities as a part of its regular budgeting process.

When all of those conditions have been met, the board said in the resolution it will commit "itself to return to and complete the visioning and planning process."
