A new outreach project between Bella Vista Community Church and Cooper Elementary School was a perfect match: 10 women, 10 handmade fleece blankets and 10 students.

Using two pieces of fleece, one black and one white, the women fringed and knotted the layers together to create each blanket. The finished creations were presented earlier this month to students in a specialeducation class.

A mother of one of the students, Debbie Lestina, embroidered the children's first names and the school's name in red on a corner of each blanket. Cooper's colors are black, white and red.
