TV raffle Bella Vista Library will begin selling raffle tickets Wednesday, Aug. 20, for a 26-inch RCA LCD / HD television that has been donated by Sam's Club in Bentonville.
Tickets are $ 1 each, 6 for $ 5 or 15 for $ 10. All proceeds go to the library.
The winning ticket will be drawn Friday, Sept. 19, at a Western Roundup fundraiser dinner at Riordan Hall. Entrants need not be present to win.
The roundup will run from 5: 30 p.m. until 9 p.m. Dinner tickets are $ 12. 50 each. The menu includes smoked pork, beef brisket, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, roll, dessert and beverage.
Tickets are available at the library, Riordan Hall and all Bella Vista Arvest Bank locations. Paperback sale Encore Books, the library's used-book store, is offering a discount on its paperbacks through Sept. 12. The price is $ 1 for four books. FOL Book Club The public is invited to join the Friends of the Library Book Club at 9: 30 a.m. Aug. 27, when the group will be discussing "Five Quarters of the Orange"by Joanne Harris. First Saturday for Kids Miss Kathryn will provide story time and a craft session at 10: 30 a.m. Sept. 6 at the library for children of all ages. Participants will take home their creations. Bedtime Stories for Moms Moms will talk about Chris Bohjalian's book "Midwives "at 10 a.m. Sept. 27 in the library. Hours of operation Regular hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, with extended hours on Wednesday until 8 p.m.
Bella Vista Library is located just east of Town Center off Lancashire Boulevard (Arkansas Highway 340 East ) at 11 Dickens Place.
