Scorpions off to good start at World Series

McKINNEY, Texas - The Arkansas Scorpions, an 11-and-under competitive baseball team, won its first pool play game at the Super Series American Division World Series on Sunday at the Ballfields at Craig's Ranch.
The Scorpions beat the Dallas Bulls 11-1.
Pitchers Kacey Murphy, Michael Stark and Chase Kilgore combined to hold the Bulls to only three hits and one unearned run.
Matt Turner drove in six runs with two doubles and a triple for the Scorpions.
Jake Shelby added two doubles and Troy Cahill and Cody Fields added two singles each in the Scorpions' 11-hit attack.
The Scorpions, made up of players from Bentonville, Rogers and Gravette, play the South Lakes (Texas ) Dragons at 2 p.m. today in the second of three pool games.
A double-elimination bracket play in the 18-team tournament begins Wednesday.
