Jamie Anne Brunk of Bentonville and John Alan Smith of Fayetteville are pleased to announce their engagement and approaching marriage.
The couple plan to marry at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 21, 2008, at Randal Tyson Park in Springdale.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Billie and Steve Brunk of Wichita, Kan. She is the granddaughter of Betty Young and her husband Carl Young of Wichita, the late Harold Brunk and the late Jamie and Bill Davis. She received a bachelor's degree in journalism in 2000 from John Brown University in Siloam Springs. She is employed as an education reporter for The Benton County Daily Record in Bentonville.
The prospective groom is the son of Lois and John Smith of Tulare, Calif. He is the grandson of Susan Horn of Bristow, Okla., Wayne Horn and his wife Michelle Horn of Bristow and the late Lorraine and John Smith. He graduated from Golden West High School in Visalia, Calif., in 1993. He is employed as a machinist for Marshalltown in Fayetteville.
