Our fault

I read the letter by Lee Van Allen and shook my head. I probably have more, or at least as much, influence on the oil market as President George W. Bush does. Someone may want to advise him that oil is traded on the stock market and the president is persona non grata in that arena.

The $ 4 a gallon gasoline does not bother me as much as the dependence on foreign countries for our oil. We are not using our own resources, even though we have more oil available (underground ) than most, if not all, Middle Eastern countries.

The American people have their heads in the sand or literally choose to ignore that over the last 30 years or so, Democrats in Congress have blocked or obstructed the development of all our natural sources of energy in the United States.

Incidentally, this includes the eight years President Bush has been in office. Republicans have some fault in this stalwart as well, but not near (not even close ) to the play for time demonstrated by Democrats.

I have often asked myself why Democrats have done this over the years. It is nonsensical, and the only conclusion I can come up with is they want us to pay $ 4 and more for gasoline. Democrats do not care about the welfare of the American public. They can point their fingers at the Republicans and say," They did it; we had nothing to do with it. "Yeah right, and I am Santa Claus. Currently, we are the third largest oil producer in the world. The problem is, we are the top user in the world. In production, we act like a Third World country. Whose fault is this ? We, the people ? Yes.
