Mr. Eells was the genuine article. He was Arkansas' answer to Vin Scully, Jack Buck, Curt Gowdy and others. He had that magical ability to make the radio listener feel just as much a part of the action with a style uniquely his own.

Back when I was on the Hill, we didn't have the internet. After graduation, I wasn't fortunate to live in range of ARSN affiliated stations. So, it was years later when streaming audio brought his voice to my first computer. And at that moment, memories of being in Razorback Stadium and marching in that "A" in front of the crowd came rushing back.

He is missed but no doubt enjoys dwelling in a much better place. Like Broyles, his shoes cannot be filled. Comparisons would not be fair to Chuck Barrett.

[...] Courtesy of Brandon Marcello and The Slophouse blog, we came across this compilation of some of Paul Eells’ memorable radio calls from the last seven years. Good stuff. Fall afternoons just aren’t the same without Eells’ trademark celebration of the Hogs entering the end zone. [...]

I'd have to agree with you, borntobe. The Cowboys have a very dynamic website and are very proud to provide information on Felix Jones. For those who haven't ventured to the Cowboy website, go there also to click on the virtual tour of the new Texas Stadium. That A&M matchup for the next ten years is going to infuse some real energy from that part of the country into Razorback recruiting by playing the game in a venue that every other stadium in the NFL will pale in comparison to.

Brandon, thanks for the links. The Raiders have one of the worst websites when it comes to information on the players. Most of their stories are devoted to the Raiderettes. It's easy to keep up with Felix because www.DallasCowboys.com is one of the best NFL websites and they constantly have new stuff on the players including video, articles, and talk shows. I haven't found anything like that on DMAC.

i've seen this kid on youtube, he seems to have the god given ability to shoot accurately from just about anywhere. he doesn't even look like he's set, or has his shoulders square to the basket half the time...he just stops and pops. what a weapon...what a great sign by coach pel.

No rumors, true facts straight from Drew's Dad, a business client of my brother. There you go, boyupstairs. You know not what you speak of.

Yes, we do have a most deserved upgrade in coach now.

ua87 - i suppose you were there and personally heard James Shibest utter these words? i seriously doubt that, you are just repeating rumors as sworn truth when you really haven't got a clue as to what you're talking about. and when did you ever stop at "one snide comment"?? you've been an HDN detractor for a long time and have uttered a long string of slanderous comments about him. its time to let a dead horse lie, we have an upgrade in the head coach department, let's all be happy with that.
