Linebacker shuffle

Arkansas defensive coordinator Willy Robinson has decided to shuffle the deck with his starting linebackers for the Hogs’ 4 p.m. Saturday game with Auburn.

Red-shirt freshman Jerry Franklin, whom Robinson credited with playing his best game against Florida, moves from middle linebacker to the weakside.

Junior Wendel Davis, who had been a middle linebacker, until this fall takes over the middle after playing both the weak and strong side.

Sophomore Freddy Burton remains the starter on the strong side.

Robinson believes the moves will allow the trio to maximize their ability, but he added each of the three could play at any of the three linebacker spots.

Robinson said he liked the effort the Razorbacks defense game for three quarters in their loss to Florida last week, but what he looking for this week is a strong finish against the Tigers (4-2, 2-2).
