UA receiver Wade out for season
Arkansas sophomore receiver Marques Wade injured his knee Saturday against Alabama and will undergo surgery later this week. Wade is out for the remainder of the season, Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino said during his Monday press conference.
Petrino said Wade tore a ligament in his knee, but did not elaborate on the injury.
UA receiver Lucas Miller suffered a concussion during the ‘Bama game and will be evaluated tomorrow before practice.
Wade served a two-game suspension to start the season due to a drunken driving charge in the summer, and saw his first action Saturday against the Crimson Tide. He recorded no catches and suffered the season-ending injury during action on special teams.
I’m sure the coaches will seek a medical redshirt year for Wade, who has shown some promise. The sophomore was listed as a starter coming out of the spring at one of Arkansas’ three receiver positions.
Miller is listed as a starter on the Hogs’ depth chart released this week for the Texas game set for Saturday at 2 p.m. in Austin, Texas.
