Adams named SEC Freshman of the Week

The impact of Arkansas’ young Razorbacks gained regional notice Monday morning when receiver Joe Adams was singled out as the Southeastern Conference’s Freshman of the Week.

Adams earned his first collegiate start in the Razorbacks’ come-from-behind 28-27 victory over Louisiana-Monroe and responded by leading the Razorbacks in receptions with seven catches for 89 yards. He became the first Razorback since Peyton Hillis (Auburn) in 2005 to record seven receptions in a game.

Adams tallied catches of 4, 7, 8, 10, 10, 17 and 33 yards against the Warhawks. Two of his catches came during Arkansas’ fourth-quarter comeback. He also netted a pair of first downs on receptions. Adams also recorded one rush for nine yards in the victory.

Adams has 10 catches for 121 yards and one touchdown in his first two games as a Razorback.
