UPDATED: Razorback Stadium vandalized last week

The Northwest Arkansas TimesKate Ward reports that the University of Arkansas had a little more work on its hands to to prep Reynolds Razorback Stadium for the Hogs’ season opener with Western Illinois this Saturday after the stadium was vandalized last week.

University of Arkansas police are seeking the suspect(s) accused of tearing down a goal post on the north end of the Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Football Field.

UAPD Lt. Gary Crain said the incident happened sometime after 9 p.m. Aug. 21 and before 7:10 a.m. on Aug. 22.

“They just walked in and found it laying on the ground,” Crain said of UA officials. “Right now, we’re checking video footage to see if there are any clues.”

Arkansas sports information director Kevin Trainor said the goal post was repaired earlier in the week.

Investigators did not see any signs of forced entry, Crain said, nor do they know how the suspects gained access to the stadium.

If arrested, the suspect(s) could face charges of criminal mischief and trespassing. This investigation is on-going. Those with any information are urged to contact University Police at, (479) 575-2311.
