Giants pick up Monk off waivers
The New York Giants picked up former Razorbacks receiver Marcus Monk off waivers today, the New York Daily News reports. Monk was cut by the Chicago Bears on Sunday as the organization trimmed its roster down to 75 by the NFL’s Tuesday deadline.
Teams will cut their rosters down to 53 players by this Saturday. Maybe Monk can impress the Super Bowl champs in camp this week to stick with the team. If not, I’m sure he’ll land somewhere on a practice squad.
Monk was picked by the Bears with the fifth-to-last pick in the NFL draft in April. The Chicago Sun-Times reported Sunday that Monk had a hard time in Chicago’s camp beating press coverage.
Monk holds Arkansas’ record for career reception touchdowns with 27.
