Is this Arkansas’ new ‘tight’ uniform?
Are Arkansas' new uniforms more maroon than cardinal? This image has been circulating all over the "Internets" and it pretty much confirms what the Hogs' new football uniforms will look like.
As The Slophouse reported last week, Arkansas head coach Bobby Petrino said the Razorbacks would don new, "tight" threads this season. An image that had been making the rounds on message boards for the last few weeks prompted the question and it now appears that replicas of the jersey are for sale online.
Most of you, from what I can gather on the boards, are not liking the coloring. I've been told that the uniform's color that looks more Texas A&M maroon than Arkansas' cardinal is NOT the tint the Hogs will be wearing come Aug. 30 in the season opener.

What are you talking about?’ He said, ‘You can recruit to Cincinatti in basketball now.’ I said, ‘Why you say that?’ He said, ‘Well, their uniforms.’ I said, ‘What do you mean?’ He said, ‘Their uniforms are tight and that’s why guys go to the school, because of their uniforms.’
So we’re going to try and have uniforms that are tight.”

I know you've been busy with Media Days and all of that, but how slow is this report? I mean, I read about these new-look digs AT LEAST a week to two weeks ago and even saw something written about them, with an accompanying photo of the jersey. Maybe it's the first time you've put it here, but reporting things should be timely and on the ball...not behind the curve.
As far as the uniforms themselves go, I think they're sharp and like everyone else, very excited about the upcoming season. Let me ask you though...through your contacts, would it be possible to find out if they'll have names on the backs of the jerseys, above the numbers...or should I just wait for someone else to report on that one too?
The jerseys look "tight", but do NOT change the head gear. Those hog helmets are very cool and known from coast to coast.
