SEC Media Days: Arkansas picked last in West
HOOVER, Ala. — The SEC Media Pre-season All-SEC football team list was just released and Arkansas has the fewest accolades and was picked to finish last in the SEC West.
Vanderbilt and the Hogs each had one representative on the All-SEC team. UA center Jonathan Luigs was Arkansas’ lone selection and, as expected, is on the first team. Ole Miss, which many thought would battle Arkansas for the last-place spot, was picked fifth and had one vote as the overall SEC champion. Someone stepped out on a limb, didn’t they?
Florida is your projected SEC champion, beating out Georgia, which was picked to finish second in the East. Auburn was picked by 48 of the 70 media members who voted to represent the West in the SEC Championship game.
“You guys are never right,” joked Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville when he took the podium this morning. Surely, Arkansas fans hope Tuberville is right in his observation this morning.
Here are the picks, with first-place votes in parentheses:
SEC Champion - Florida (36), Georgia (18), Auburn (13), LSU (1), Tennessee (1), Ole Miss (1).
