Pelphrey, speaking at an event to announce his new charity (Pel’s Pals), said he’s attempting to snag a few teams to participate in an invitational in Fayetteville sometime near Christmas.

UA head coach John Pelphrey is hoping to schedule a non-conference invitational at Bud Walton Arena next season.

Arkansas, he hopes, will play three to four games at the invitational.

“We’re still working on scheduling [next season],” Pelphrey said. “That’s a possibility.”

Nothing has been set, Pelphrey said, but he’s holding out hope to have something scheduled for this upcoming season.

“Scheduling is so hard,” Pelphrey said. “You have such a small window of time to play all these games now and you have to deal with Christmas break, Thanksgiving, finals. It’s just hard to start picking and placing.”

We’ll have more from Pelphrey later tonight and tomorrow, including his thoughts on the upcoming season.
