Tejada dislocates knee in workout
Arkansas sophomore kicker Alex Tejada dislocated his left knee while working out Friday, but the injury is not expected to keep the starter out of pre-season practices in August.
Tejada suffered the patella subluxation while running in a conditioning drill Friday morning, according to information provided by the UA’s media contact for football, Kevin Trainor. Tejada was seen wearing a brace and supporting himself with crutches mid-morning Friday at the Broyles Athletic Complex.
Tejada had the same injury twice in his sophomore and junior year as a soccer player at Springdale High School.
The injury will be evaluated in the next few days, Trainor said.
Tejada’s left leg is used to plant on kicks. He’s expected to be relied upon heavily by head coach Bobby Petrino next season.
The Springdale native connected on 17 of 23 field goals last season for the Razorbacks, including a long of 47 yards. He also made 58 of 60 extra point kicks.

[…] reminded of the tough schedule he has in front of his Hogs (the second toughest in the nation). Alex Tejada hurt his knee during a morning run this week, he shouldn’t miss any preseason practice. […]
why is a kicker running? the fartherest he is ever expected to travel 6-7 feet is less than 2 seconds…how hard is it? reminds me of when lance alworth was horsing around kicking field goals in pre-season for the Chargers and injured himself and missed his rookie year. sometimes you just cant fix stupid.
How is Tejada stupid for running and working out? I don’t think any fan would want their kicker sitting on the couch all summer eating Cheetos.
And I doubt coach Petrino would like that, either.
