New uniforms for Hogs — sorta
Fan excitement has been rampant online. Football is still more than 100 days away but that isn’t stopping thousands of you to give your take on the new coaching staff, the new offense and the new defense.

Darren McFadden
When boredom without football has reached its peak in June or early July, fans usually start talking about the most inane subjects: Uniforms, the color of facemasks, mouthpieces and, yes, even pants — ironed and the not ironed variety.
Trust us, just check out the various Razorback message boards. They’re an informative hoot.
But it seems boredom and anticipation is at an all-time high in the Natural State. Already, with a new coaching staff in place, rumors are floating on the “Internets” that the Hogs may don new duds in the fall.

Well, that remains to be seen. For the record, we haven’t heard of such a change — let alone any rumblings — but that isn’t stopping EA Sports from debuting a new alternate uniform for the Hogs in this summer’s sure-fire video game hit, “NCAA Football ‘09.”
Fresh from the success of Reggie Herring’s inclusion of all-red uniforms in the 38-7 loss to Missouri in this year’s Cotton Bowl, EA Sports has debuted the new, small town high school get-up in its game.
Make sure and grab the game for the Xbox 360 if you’re wanting a copy with Darren McFadden on the cover (sans red pants). The former Hog turned Raider will share cover spotlights with Matt Ryan (Playstation 3), DeSean Jackson (Playstation 2) Owen Schmitt (PSP) and Sparty, the Michigan State mascot (Wii).
FYI, I’m going to refer to the Razorbacks’ red pants and jersey combination as the “Reggie Reds” in future posts.

Hehe.. just don’t mess with the helmet, which like UT’s Horns, is one of the coolest and most recognized in all of college football.
I know we played terrible in the all red uniforms, but I’m not a superstitious person, and I liked that look. With all of the turmoil surrounding the program at the time of the Cotton Bowl, I’m afraid we would have lost no matter what uniforms we wore. I had been wanting to see what all red uniforms would look like for quite some time, and I liked the combination of red pants and jerseys. I agree with dwp007, don’t mess with the helmet. It was bad enough to mess with the running Hog a few years ago (and I still like the version before this current one better), so don’t change it again.
