Jets may trade up to land McFadden
The New York Daily News is reporting this morning that the Jets may trade up for the
No. 2 pick to land Darren McFadden, who has fallen in love with the franchise and city.
The Jets have the sixth pick of the draft, but growing concerns that the Oakland Raiders may snag the former Hog at the four-spot has those in the Jets franchise moving and shaking, according to the report.
Darren McFadden was in New York Tuesday for the second time in less than a week. The former Arkansas star has a hunch he could be spending a lot of time in these parts after the Jets make their first draft pick on Saturday.
Whether that’s at No. 2 or No. 6, that remains to be seen. If the Jets stay at sixth in the draft order, don’t be surprised to see the Raiders pick him up at four. I think it’s safe to say that McFadden would have more potential to be a popular figure in New York City than at the Black Hole. The media in NYC will be all over him (good and bad). He could become a superstar.
Not so much in Oakland.
And to think, before the 2006 Heisman Trophy presentation, McFadden had never been to New York City. Soon, he may be a high roller in the Big Apple.
“I wore green and white in high school, so, hey, it might be another fit here,” said McFadden, smiling.
We’ll find out Saturday when the NFL Draft kicks off.

Much rather see DMac at NY than playing for the Raiders.
J-E-T-S, Jets! Jets! Jets!
These things are rarely true. NFL teams are masters at disinformation campaigns. I hope it works out though. The Raiders would surely find a way to waste DMAC’s talents. The Jets have usually run a pretty balanced offense. Curtis Martin was a powerhouse, and DMAC could do the same thing. Also, I could easily see myself rooting for the Jets. I’ve never like the Raiders, but would force myself to like them if they draft DMAC.
