Hogs ready for ‘Psycho T,’ UNC
Arkansas practiced today in preparation for the daunting task of knocking off No. 1 seed North Carolina tomorrow. The Hogs’ most formidable obstacle to overcome will most likely be UNC fire-breather Tyler Hansbrough, who teammates lovingly call “Psycho T.”
The big man averages 22.9 points and 10.2 rebounds a game and will commonly throw his body on the floor for loose balls. He also likes to elbow his way under the basket and take a shot or two from defenders in the face in the process.
Sorry ladies, I’ve got no idea if he also likes long walks on the beach.
The media has come to love him and the way he plays on the floor. A sports reporter for the NBC affiliate in Raleigh, N.C., depicted “Psycho T” perhaps in the lightest, funniest and most creative way Friday night after the Tar Heels’ first-round, 113-74 win over Mount St. Mary’s. Due to NCAA regulations barring the station from broadcasting highlights while the tournament was still airing on CBS that night, anchor Penn Holderness re-enacted the blowout with dolls and various props.
As you can see to the left, Jason from the “Friday the 13th” films played the part of Hansbrough to a ‘T,” err… “Psycho T.”

I gotta say, the fast bear depicting Ty Lawson was pretty accurate.
Here are a few notes and quotes tonight from our man in Raleigh, Nate Allen:
– Stefan Welsh may play Sunday night against UNC, although head coach John Pelphrey said that he was still doubtful for the game. Welsh seemed confident he would see some action if he could get to about “75 percent” strength.
– Pelphrey on Hansbrough: “Only problem I have with Hansbrough is he’s my son’s favorite player. There are some issues there I will have to work on when this thing is over with. Certainly he does a special job dunking the basketball and running the floor.”
– Arkansas is 6-1 against ranked opponents this season.
– North Carolina is 22-1 in NCAA Tournament games in the state of North Carolina.
– UNC coach Roy Williams on the “advantage” of playing near Chapel Hill Sunday: “I’ve never seen a building beat me yet and I’ve never seen a building win for me yet.”
The Hogs and Heels tip at about 4:20 p.m. Sunday on CBS.

OUCH!! Game Over…………
At least we were beat up by the Tarheels versus losing badly to a team that we should beat. The hogs ran into a buzz saw today. The future is bright.
What took Roy Williams soooo long to pull his big guns and put in the subs…..NC ranks right up there with TN on my black list. Kudos to Pelphrey for leaving the seniors in as long as he did….before ending their Razorback career…..GO HOGS! GO PEL!!!!
WOW! That is one tough UNC team. Held Hansbrough in check though. The Hogs could have been clicking on all cylinders and would have still been crushed. Quite a squad there at UNC.
I’m proud of the way the Razorbacks finished up the season. The future is bright, indeed, cajunhog.
Looked like Coach Williams had some nice words for Coach Pelphrey after the game. I thought it was a class act all the way around, UNC could have hung 130 on us if they had wanted.
GO HOGS GO!!
