Pelphrey on “The Shot”

The Madness is here. Some of you are at home, skipping work to watch the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Others of you are at work, pretending to be busy as they watch games online.Either way you cut it, it’s a great day to be a basketball fan. Arkansas coach John Pelphrey is a fan, but he’s not too willing to relive Christian Laettner’s buzzer-beater in 1992 that knocked off Pelphrey and Kentucky in the Elite 8.counter statsHere’s the shot, in case you’ve never seen it during CBS’ March Madness highlight videos and on Allstate commercials (Pelphrey is No. 34):

Pelphrey discussed the play with the Arkansas media earlier this week. He could have sworn he had his hands on the ball when it was thrown in. The mind certainly plays tricks on you in those type of situations. Here’s the 2-minute clip:John Pelphrey on “The Shot”Man, I love the film “Mr. Destiny.” Good pick, coach. And no, I never asked Pelphrey if he had seen Chris Farley’s reenactment of “The Shot.” Check it out. It’s a good laugh:
Enjoy the games today, everybody.
