Weems injured in early afternoon practice

Arkansas senior forward Sonny Weems may have sprained his knee during an early afternoon practice Tuesday at Bud Walton Arena, Arkansas coach John Pelphrey said.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to practice again later this afternoon, but Pelphrey did not know if Weems, the Hogs’ leading scorer, would be available for the latter half of Arkansas’ two-a-day practices.

It was not known how serious the injury was at the time (noon), but Pelphrey brushed it off a bit during a press conference earlier this afternoon. Guess we’ll see in the coming hours and days.

Arkansas takes on Indiana in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at 8:40 p.m. CDT in Raleigh, N.C. on Friday.
