Does anyone else feel that the Hogs got a lower seed than they deserved? Their Midwest Regional placement didn’t really make much sense either, when the South Regional is being held in Little Rock this year, with Texas sitting at the #2. Had the Razorbacks been given the #7 seed and placed in the South Regional, then there would be a potential 2nd Round match up with the Longhorns that would definitely draw a lot of attention and fanfare between both states. I know the loss to Appalachian State was a pretty bad mark on this season’s resumé. However, the team’s record against ranked opponents & their strong play in the SEC Tourney should have at least secured them of a #7 seed. Miami (FL) got a 7th, and that team is not near as good the Razorbacks this year. USC was handed a #6 seed and they lost to Mercer (lower tier team with a bad record) and didn’t have strong games against ranked opponents…
Hey dalbag:
I agree, the Hogs have beaten Vanderbilt, how many times??? And Tennessee, and Miss. St. and and and the list goes on. But, and this will sound bad, until the SEC can get some referees that will call games in a professional manner and not continue the “we win at our house you win at yours,” the SEC will always be stuck in this quagmire. You can’t tell me Kentucky was even “average” this year without the SEC referees. Anyone can win if put on the foul line enough. And, enough said. There were alot of calls in the SEC this year that should warrant “permanent” dismissal from these referees working in this conference ever again. And ya know what??? Hey SEC commisioners, we are not blind, and we are not stupid!!! Period!!!
