Hogs halfway to the Century Club

Arkansas’ 3-point barrage has been jaw-dropping in the first half. The Hogs, led by Stefan Welsh’s 3-of-4 performance beyond the arc, have hit 9 of 13 attempts from 3-point land. They’ve also been pretty good inside the line, and are connecting on 58.8 percent of their field goal attempts.

Right now, it’s all but over. Arkansas is up on LSU 51-28 and has matched its highest first-half point total (51) of the season. Arkansas scored 51 points against Missouri on Nov. 28 in a 94-91 win in Bud Walton Arena.

LSU center Chris Johnson is leading the Tigers’ cause with a team-high 9 points here at halftime. Arkansas’ Welsh has 10 and Patrick Beverley has chipped in 9 points.

I guess the only negative you can get out of all this is that the Hogs have turned the ball over 10 times in the first half. But so have the LSU Tigers. Wouldn’t be surprised to see some of the fans leave this one early to dodge the wintry weather moving in.
