Climbing Hill

It’s not a surprise 7-foot senior Steven Hill has been more productive during the Hogs’ three-game winning streak.
Arkansas coach John Pelphrey sees it somewhat like high tides lifting all boats.

“When a team shares the basketball like we’ve been doing, good things happen. Everyone plays better,” Pelphrey said.

Hill has scored 18 points in the Hogs’ last three games. Though that’s not great numbers, his points tend to come on the punctuating end of alley-oop passes for dunks that demoralize a defense.

Hill is also a defensive presence that has to be accounted for by every team the Hogs plays.

“He makes plays at the rim that changes things,” Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said. “He blocks shots, alters shots and is just a big, physical presence inside. He was the defensive player of the league last year.”
