UA dominates Florida from start to finish
At no point did Florida have a chance. Sonny Weems made sure of that. As did Patrick Beverley. Throw in a couple of alley-oop dunks by Steven Hill and the second-half re-emergence of Darian Townes, the Gators looked lost in an 80-61 loss to the Hogs on Saturday in Bud Walton Arena.
Florida head coach Billy Donovan had another view, though.
“There were times when we were physically overmatched. You have to give [Arkansas] credit,” Donovan said. “When they come out, they look like an NBA team physically and we look like a very mature high school team.”
Wow. Now that’s a compliment.
As for another update on the Donovan-John Pelphrey love fest, I think Pelphrey summed up the focus everyone has had on their past best in a text message he sent to his former mentor Donovan this morning before the game.
“This is ridiculous.”
So, no more talk about how much the two former coaching colleagues care and respect each other.
“When you have two friends going against each other like this, I don’t think of it as he against I,” Donovan said. “It’s more of just Arkansas against Florida.”
All that aside, Pelphrey is now 1-1 against Donovan… 1-0 while at Arkansas.

GO HOGS! As the saying goes, there is no “I” in team - and the guys finally seem to be getting PEL’S message.
They would not have won some of these games last year. Slackerball is hopefully forever gone and John Pelphrey is the real deal.
I have a feeling that coach Pel may be at the UA for a long time and national championships will come again. His incoming class is suppose to be outstanding and games like today will only help.
Like Pelphrey, I also think Bobby Petrino may soon realize that he has found a bird’s nest on the ground in hog land. UA athletics are on the rise Razorback fans.
That game was great!! It kind of reminded of the glory days of Nolan and company ” 40 minutes of Pure Hell for the opponent” I can’t wait to see how we finish up the season. After there last 2 wins as impressive as they were. I think it is safe to assume they will be ranked a top 25 team on Monday. Coach Pel is going to be great! Like you 007 i’m excited to see what next year’s class brings. Go Hogs!!
By the way 007 did you see my hometown boy Sonny out there today. He was on Fire!!!!
I am deep in the heart of Texas, crittco, but Sonny Weems is definitely a PLAYER. Eventually, especially when he gets his own players, 40 minutes of PEL is going to be very hard to deal with. Get ready SEC. There’s a new guy in hog town and the Razorbacks are on the rise.
Go Hogs!!!
Um Weems is a senior hes far from new in town but he is coming in to his own a lil bit and playing better by taking a lil more control of the offense.
