Hogs start hot

Arkansas started the game 0-of-4 from the field, relying mainly on outside shots but started to drive to the basket and have now taken an 8-2 lead after a Steven Hill alley-oop dunk.

A little out of the norm for the Hogs, who have been known to start games cold from the field and had to fight back in the final 10 minutes of the first half. Interesting to see if the Razorbacks can keep it up without giving up too many fouls to Florida, which seems content on driving into the paint when outside options have not worked.

UPDATE: Sonny Weems has become a machine. A slam in the face of a Florida defender, a three-point basket, followed by a floater in the lane has helped Arkansas reach a 15-8 advantage. Gary Ervin also had a flash steal and bucket.

Despite all that, the loudest cheer may have come during a media timeout with 11:25 remaining in the first half when new Arkansas football coach Bobby Petrino came to center court to call the Hogs with the Razorback faithful.
