Hogs can bump RPI with win

The Hogs are in a very familiar situation heading into today’s game against Florida. At No. 41 in the RPI, Arkansas still has a lot of work to do to secure its third consecutive NCAA Tournament bid.

Florida, ranked No. 43 in the RPI, comes into Bud Walton Arena today. On Feb. 9, the Razorbacks could make a lot of headway. Thanks to the almost delusional No. 10 ranking of the Ole Miss Rebels in the RPI, Arkansas could find itself in the 30s this time next week in the RPI. But it takes winning to get there.

Those losses to South Carolina and Georgia are looking mighty hurtful right now, and with five of Arkansas’ next nine games on the road in the SEC, things could still get ugly. For now, though, ESPN bracketologist Joe Lunardi has the Hogs as one of his “last four in,” in the Big Dance as a No. 12 seed.

We’ll blog live from courtside today. Florida and Arkansas are set to tipoff at 2 p.m. on Raycom. Cox channel 7 is where you’ll need to set your television dial if you’re in Northwest Arkansas.
